Tournament RULES

Welcome Letter

extract from email rcvd

Dear Club Secretary
Please pay close attention to the attached paperwork.
Due to time constraints it will NOT be resent, so please read it to ensure that your boys are NOT disappointed.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you arrive on time and that all proof of age documents are available in case of a challenge by another team.

I have changed the check in times to 9am and 1.30pm respectively for the AM and PM tournaments on each day.

Have a great tournament. (I will NOT be at the site on saturday as I am Refereeing at Wembley Stadium)
Please note that in my abscence Mr Pat Cullen will be running the tournament and that all decisions are final.

I cannot give details of who is playing in what age group. No doubt if you all know each other you will work out at least which clubs are present from the email addresses above.
I do not give out details until the day, as (quite sadly) clubs have been known not to turn up as they wont attend if other clubs are playing as they "cannot win".
Remember, its about the enjoyment of the boys, have a great day and may the best team win.
What I can tell you is that wherever possible I have given the boys as many games as I can possibly fit in.
(I think the mimimum is either 6 or 7).

Best wishes
Fred

CANCELLED Perry St. Barnes

What is happening over Haynes park, if we stood on the hill we could see the grass grow.
We have had to cancel Sundays game (24th May) due to long grass, it was hard enough last Sunday against Leaside to play on one side of the pitch and the grass hasn’t got any better so have had to cancel the game.

The following week should be the Barnes Tournament, i have received a letter from Barnes stating that due to lack of numbers the Tournament has been cancelled?

The League

As last year Heath Park finish 5th in theleague.

8 Ston16 4 1   11  -14 13
9 Linf16 2 0   14  -74 6

I set a target at the start of the season to win as menay as we lost, not quite on target but still a good result.

The Future

5 friendlies added to our fixtures more to be confirmed soon.

What does the future hold, well looking into my crystal ball…….

Looking to the end of this season and if my calculations are correct 4th place in the league could be down to our home game against Barn Sports. If not then 5th place will be as last year, still a good result.

Parents bowling evening is also being planned, along with a poker night for the Dads, Friends and family (when I learn the rules, what’s that all about, all in, haven’t got enough chips balance goes into a side pot?) and the ladies can play if they wish

Summer tournaments; we have already entered 2, and I am awaiting confirmation back (UPR & Linford).

As part of the renewal process for 2009/10 etc, we will put in place details of the 2010 tour, taking deposits and booking very early to confirm our places etc. Then we can have some fun fundraising to reduce the costs. Don’t forget the whole idea about fundraising events is to get friend s and family to participate (they can pay towards your fun).

Race Night

Our race night that was on the 28th February went well, with lots of friends and family in attendance it was a great success, although a little cold.
With betting on the races going strong it was the safecracker games that took the evening by storm.
Thanks to all that attended.

And if anybody mentions horse 1, i will not be accountable for my actions.

SATURDAY TRAINING

On Saturday 28th March, this will be our last Saturday training till August, Yes thats correct no more Saturdays.
Dont panic Saturdays will become Thursday, from Thursday 2nd April we will be training over Haynes park on a Thursday evening from 6.30 till 8.00.
Around this date sun set is around 7.40 so we may not get our full 1 1/2 hours in before it gets dark, but should be ok in a couple more weeks.
This does not effect our Tuesday training on the astro.

Friendly Sunday 22nd Feb

Due to the poor weather over the last couple of weeks and the postponment of our league fixtures, i have arranged a friendly against LeasideColts in the old days we would have known them as Leaside B to get us warmed up before the following weeks game against Linford, a must win game.

NO TRAINING SATURDAY 14th FEB

Due to a very wet pitch, Saturdays training has been cancelled.

Game Cancelled 8th Feb

Due to a  very wet pitch, the game against Brentwood Athletic has been cancelled.

NO TRAINING SATURDAY 7th Feb

Due to poor weather conditions and a very wet pitch, Saturdays training had to be cancelled.

Race Night 28th February 2009

Race Night Coming Soon

Christman Bowling 2008

A good afternoon was had by all at the kids Christmas Bowling, Chips and Drinks event, although the bowling was played in a good relaxed manner, they was still competitive and prizes will be given out on Tuesday nights training:

1st game was one by James with a total 107 points a very poor performance by the whole team.

But after a team talk from the manager at 1/2 time the 2nd game was very different.

2nd Game; 3rd was Jordan with 128; 2nd was Dominic with 134; but with a good spare on frame 10 the winner with 139 points was.
